JCSS is worried that quality education is declining very much in the public schools. It is this public schools that parents of the poorest of the poor send their children. These children of the poorest of the poor is the focus of JCSS. The wealthy people in the community do also send their children to public schools but then employ private teachers who give additional lessons to their children to make up the gap. The outcome on average is that when the children of the poorest of the poor and the rich would sit for an entrance examination, the majority of the children that would pass will come from the wealthy family, while majority of the failures will be from the poor families. Secondly the school is aware of her decision that every child from henceforth should be able to pass the two core subjects- English and Mathematics before such a child will be promoted. Thirdly in view of the vocational training the school aims to embark on, the school wants to ensure that children that she admits are well drilled in the core subjects English and Mathematics before such children will be admitted into JCSS class one. The school will also during the period such child is in the special class will introduce him to few elementary vocational experiences, so that such child will be very much at home with vocational knowledge. Based n the above reasons JCSS has extended its special class from one class to two classes. This will enable them to meet with the target group mentioned above and as well achieve the objectives of education. Due to lack of accommodation for the main students, this special class could be shifted to afternoon lessons. With this arrangement more children will be reached with the same resource.
