John Calvin Secondary School was established by the Nigeria Reformed Church through the desire of the members of Nigeria Reformed Church to have a school that will provide qualitative and functional education Christian education in the remote part of Izzi. The school started in 1994/1995 academic session with three streams of Junior Secondary school one (JSS1) The school was officially registered and acknowledged by the then Enugu state Government in October 1996. The school was approved to operate as a Junior Secondary School with a yearly intake of three streams of JSS1.From the inception of the school the under listed persons has served as the school principal right from the date of establishment till date.
MISSION STATEMENT
Foundation: The school is based on the word of God with the Reformed Confession of faith.
Purpose: The purpose of the programme is to glorify God by the proclamation of the Gospel in Word and deed.
The service of the school focuses on everybody who is willing to learn especially the secondary school children, the less privileged, the poorest of the poor and female students.
It aims at developing the students intellectually as well as in skill acquisition to empower the beneficiaries to be self reliance.
By providing sound Biblical knowledge and academic par excellence that is based on fundamental skills that enable students to seek the Lord and to cope with life after school.
